Call Pilot 100, ver 3.1. I've done this on many other Call Pilots with no problem. I'm connected via ethernet to the CP, can make changes, etc. with no problem. Go to Operations to start the backup procedure, then BRU to start the backup. After about ten minutes I get an error that says the backup did not complete successfully.
I've tried a laptop with Win XP and another with Win 10. Same result. Any thoughts?
Thank you. Jim

I have yet to see that issue. Reboot the CP before doing a backup maybe, sounds like corruption. Bring another 3.1 card and do the upgrade procedure anyway, it might clear any bugs. Try another patch cord too.

I rebooted the CP, but no change. Tried several times and got a "communication problem encountered with site [ip address]. If I have to, I can re-enter the programming from scratch. I have good records, but they have a lot of choices, menus, etc. so it wouldn't be my first choice, but not the end of the world.
The MICS connected to it is another story though. It took quite a while and many attempts, but finally got the RAD to do a complete download. This is one I prefer not to do from scratch. I got some "... cannot be completed because the connection has been lost to the 'Target' system . . ."
The plant is shut down this week, and the power company will be killing all power this weekend for some kind of testing. We'll see how that goes.

In that case I'd make sure the system is unplugged from the power totally (including back power supplies). I don't like it when power companies 'test things'! Brownouts & all sorts of power fluctuations! I had one system default because of excessive brownouts - hours at a time.
Would be great if others had problems, whereas you just come along & did a clean start, AFTER the power has come back on and has stabilised. Let others be beta testers!

Never did get a good backup of the Call Pilot. But the power down for a whole day turned out ok. The MICS and CP were both on a UPS. The onsite guys connected the UPS to a portable generator for the day, and kept things going. I think the UPS did some filtering of the dirty power from the generator. Anyway, when the day was done, everything worked. Although I have no CP backup yet.
Thanks for the support. Jim
