Regarding the Vertical Wave IP2500 - I set up a simple ping test and have a few boxes that fail on one of the assigned IP addresses. Not the primary address (NIC), but one of the 3 others. It's my understanding that each of these IP's is for an MRM module. Does this sound correct? What issue might a failed ping be an indicator of? Some of my colleagues think it could coincide with poor or one-way audio. The sites are remote to me, I can't go and conduct my own on site tests. Any insight is appreciated.

Build 4.5.0.0 (3765). Cookie cutter installations, they're all identical.

Hi,
Which MRM are they a b or c? Also I think only the first ip of the mrm will ping if my memory is correct.

Jim: Small world, I live across the street from SST. Anyhow, I can't answer which model MRM. As part of our checklist when installing the Vertical waves, we ping the 4 ip's associated with the box (the NIC + 3 mrm's), but I haven't been able to get an answer as to what a failure indicates. Thanks. Joe

Hey,
You live in Lindenhurst?
Anyway on Wave you have vam ip, isc ip and then mrm IP. It matters which one you have. The mrm a only will ping the first ip address

Directly across the street from your offices.
This is the reply I got from one of our network analysts: 10 is the windows server 11 is the liunx phone processing 12- 14 are MRMS.. 14 is not expected to repond to a ping test
What he didn't answer, nor did anyone else on our network team, is do I need to address this? Ignore it? What troubleshooting steps? Our in-house Vertical rep didn't reply at all.

Then I suspect you have a MRM b. In that case they reserved 3 IP addresses but the third is not needed until you change to MRM C. SO long and short of it is don't worry about it. Have a good one.

If the MRM (a,b,c) has ip address(es) assigned and are not replying to pings, bumping up the resources that are allocated may get them replying.
