Hello, Our customer is having an issue with Not being able to have caller ID forwarded outside to cell phones with forwarded calls. All the cell phone receives is the company caller info, Not the original callers ID. This is a Time Warner Cable PRI circuit. Panasonic Tech Support says it is a Time Warner Issue. Time Warner says RNIE is required on the TDE telephone system for this to work. Panasonic Tech support has NEVER heard of RNIE. Anyone know a work around? Thanks!

How are you forwarding the call, virtual ext, ext or via VM.

I ran into the same problem last year. Panasonic TDE/NCP and the NS700 at this time do not support RNIE (Redirecting Number Information Element). I did contact Panasonic tech support but they also said it was a TW problem. TW would not change their configuration since they wanted to comply with the FCC Truth in Caller ID act prohibiting caller ID spoofing, yet many other providers allow this feature to work.
Instructions are just one man's opinion on paper

Digital phones are forwarding the calls outside the system over the PRI.

I contacted Panasonic Tech Support regarding this as well. They acted like they have Never heard of RNEI. Panasonic does not even offer it on their newest NS700 and NS1000 systems either. We never were able to get it to work with a CenturyLink PRI either. We were hoping TWC would be able to adapt.

The issue is that Time Warner (TW) will not allow a number to be sent out that is not on the native PRI. My company has been working with them for a long time now to resolve the issue which they report only happens on Mitel systems. We know this to not be true. TW requires RNIE tagging to prevent spoofing of calls but this also breaks re-propagation of the original CID. We have bee able to over come this with ALL of the other carriers we deal with accept TW. Please express this to the TW folks so we can break this chain of finger pointing. It is a setting in the Cisco IAD that they refuse to change. I know of only 2 systems that provide RNIE tagging. Cisco (duh it is a Cisco IAD Router), and Shoretel. I am sure there are others but I don't know them. The test is simple. FWD an extension to the PSTN and send out the original CID. TW will fail this call every time. This issue has been a deal breaker for customers that want to use TW. Educate your customer and tell them TW is the bad guy here and to not go with their service. STOP THE MADNESS!!
