Help me out here as I'm having a brain cramp. I need a DID number on a PRI to be answered by a specific auto attendant during the day and a separate one at night, to be done manually by switching between day/night at the reception phone. Program 22-11 would send it to voice mail (3999), but what about a specific AA?. Sitting here thinking about it, suppose I program the main number to be answered by a virtual extension. That extension is fixed call forwarded to VM. The Next Call Routing mailbox option is enabled with the time out option set to goto call routing box 1. Time for dialing commands is set for 0. I do the same thing with another virtual extension at night with a different call routing box. Am I on to something or have I been drinking too much lol.

What I generally do is to have the system look at a different DID translation table when the system is in night mode. So, you can have the day mode destination for that number be one virtual extension that goes immediately to your day auto attendant, and the night mode destination goes to a different virtual with your night auto attendant. The other DIDs in the table can be the same destination for both day and night modes.

You will need to use a VE fixed forwarded to the AA pilot and then assigned as a specific AA that you setup in the voicemail. After you do a few thousand of these it becomes second nature. I have seen so many badly programmed systems out there for DID it's sad. You have 2 DID tables per MODE. Say 1-100 and 101-200. Then set the second one 1-100 and 201-300. In the 101 and 201 tables is where you set the shift and in the 1-100 are the direct DID's to peoples phones. Frankly, IMHO this is probably one of the strongest features in NEC.

So I am on the right track.....cool. Good idea to have 2 separate tables, one for the shift as you say and another for extensions. That'll make for a clearer program.
