AVAYA IPO 500 V2 R9 with embedded voicemail. voicemail works for internal calls, but not external calls.

Set up group 501 as night mode, voicemail is turn on. when you ring the main number, it rings and voicemail answers the call, asks to leave a message. After you leave a message, nothing shows up in the voicemail of 501.

But when you ring 501 directly from internal, it has the exactly same procedure. After you leave a message, a new message in VM 501.

Voicemail type: embedded voicemail
Voicemail mode: ip office mode
voicemail code complexity: off
group 501: ring mode: sequential, queuing: on, overflow: off, fallback: off, voicemail: on, voicemail answer time: 5 seconds.

Tried to set voicemail email up, but it did not work either.

Any ideas?

How is the external call getting to 501? Is the ICR set to 501, or is it to another group and 501 is the Night Service Fallback for the other group? Because let's say the the ICR is to group 500, the NS Fallback is 501, the VM is going to end up in 500

Hi Tommy,

Yes, you are right. calls go to 500, fallback to night group 501.

And I checked 500's voicemail, it had all the messages from external calls.

It's a little weird, 500's VM is off, why calls still go to 500's VM?

Let's say you didn't have 501 as the NS Fallback, and you have 500's voicemail ticked off. Calls will NOT cover to 500's mailbox in Day mode, but will go directly to 500's mailbox if you set it to Night Service.

If you want 501's mailbox to answer after ringing group 501 when 500 is in Night Service, you make a Sequential group with a single phantom member that is forwarded unconditionally including hunt group calls to a short code that is Voicemail Collect to "#"501, making that group the Overflow for 501.

Or VM Pro, make a Leave Action for 500 to Leave Voicemail in mailbox 501

Simply turn 500 to Night Service will make calls go to 500's voicemail at Night? I will have a try next time.

Thank you very much!
