How do you an IP phone extension without moving the set. I've tried changing the user ID and a reset

It's best to have them move the handset, if it's a desk swap of employees, just teach them to take their phone with them like they would their PC.
If you must swap, I believe an important step is to swap the numbering in the extension tab (where your ports are), then the user tab. Some pro's on this board can correct me if wrong.

IP phones "remember" the extension number they were first logged in as, and changing it in the extension portion of Manager does not change that. You will want to access the craft menu on each telephone and clear them of their settings. Let then reboot, arrive at the login prompt, and login as the desired extensions.
