I'm super new to this system. The IT guy who knew the phone system left no notice. I'm reading the manual and just kind of putting together what I need to do to do certain functions.

Recently, while trying to activate a phone line (Still haven't figured that part out.. Doh'!) I accidentally turned off the Toshiba Strata box while removing its casing (Doh'!... again) . By doing that I messed up the entire office. Had to call citrix to reset the lines and everything. With doing that, it somehow reset the Network Emanager too. I've gone through and been able to fix almost everything EXCEPT How to setup certain users with direct phone numbers?

Thanks in advance

Hello J Bo.

The first thing I feel obligated to mention is how Toshiba depends on it dealers and Toshiba tech to support the system. With Network eManager it seems deceptively easy to manage, but it is a bit more complicated then you may think. It sounds like you have done a pretty good job deciphering much of the help files and roll-over help.

You will probably hear this a lot on this message board, but I would suggest that you reach out to a local Toshiba vendor to see if they are willing to spend a little bit of time with you to navigate the system that will hopefully result if fewer OOPS moments.

I know that your company probably expects that you will be able to manage anything with a plug, but I have trained many IT guys and they always have troubles working with Toshiba. I see a lot of programming mistakes that end with an email about how their system is acting strange. In most cases it is not the system that was the problem.

Call routing is less like Windows Domains and more like data network routing. You start with DID number in the Trunk assignments and send a call to a destination, in this case to a phone extension.

Some dealers may not want to show you how to self-mange the Toshiba system, but I am sure that you could find someone in the Houston area that would be willing to spend an hour or so,. It really will save you a lot of time in the future. Besides you will need this vendor for future upgrades and licenses, so it will be good to have a Toshiba dealer in your contact list.

And the last point, if your system lost programming after disconnection power, then probably don't have a current backup stored on the SM or SD card on the processor, or the card is bad.
