I have an iwatsu ADIX ix-12ktd-3 phone that I am trying to purchase a headset for. Another person purchased one and when they connected it to the headset jack it did not work. After reviewing the manual it says you must use the "headset control key" to make or answer calls. I cannot find this key on the phone. I also cannot locate a control or release key. So while the phone has a headset jack, there seems to be no way to operate it once it's connected. Any help would be much appreciated!

The KTD-3 model uses the HEADSET CONTROL key if the headset is plugged into the headset jack on the phone. The control version of this button replaces the connect and release buttons, so you'd only need the control type button.

By default, a headset control button is placed on the top row of buttons, right under the display. You can find out if one is programmed by leaving the handset in the cradle, dial FEAT, #, 9 then push a button. The display will show you how that button is programmed. Repeat for other buttons. One of those buttons may already be programmed.

If you don't have a button, you'll need your vendor to program one for you. It's not a bad idea to have your vendor in to do this, because there are other programming settings he can make to assure the best headset operation. This is all predicated on your system having a software version that supports the headset control version (with ktd-3 phones, it's pretty likely).

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.
