Bell Canada has announced that they have received regulatory approval to buy out Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) with the deal closing on March 17 2017.

MTS provided service to the Canadian Provence of Manitoba under area codes of 204 and 431.

Things sort of come full circle as the Manitoba Govt bought the existing telephone service from Bell in 1908 to form MTS as govt agency and was sold off in the late 1990's to be a standalone company.
