Howdy, I have a customer and they had a power outage and DX80 at blew up, I replaced the whole system with a refurbished one from Starteltech. Everything was fine but the customer reported having trouble using DTMF digits to log into his mailbox remotely. I tried from my office and had the same trouble. So I replaced the voicemail and the problem continued.
Last time I was out I called themselves from their own line, for example I grabbed line 3 and called into line 1 and it worked perfectly every time. That would indicate to me I'm clear, but I wonder, the customer wants a refund on his phone system, the only thing I can do is swap out the KSU. Looks to me like a phone company issue but they come back no trouble found. Any thoughts or ideas?

You may want to state the the Service provider and type of Trunk Lines you are connected to,,, Looks like you need a DTMF Tester ,to prove if the PBX is a issue or the Service provider ,, it seems to only happen on incoming outside calls, which seems to be a service provider issue. Does it do it if you call in on a different incoming trunk ??

They use Integra and POTS lines. My butt set has a digit grabber. I hope to test with it later today.

Well, when I call with my cell phone, my digit grabber reads it all, however the phone system voicemail does not.
However, when I use my butt set on the block and call them from their own lines, it works everytime. I had the phone guy from Intregra, the carrier, call in and it works everytime for him too. It also works using his T-Mobile cell phone. My AT&T cell phone and the customer's Verizon cell phone don't work.
I just have to lay this at the carrier. If I call in from their own lines, it works everytime. If the central office tech calls in, it works everytime.
Seems to be an outside network issue. I left it with the phone company.
If I call in from their own lines, it works flawlessly. If I use my cell it never works. Must be a carrier issue.
The fact that my digit grabber can read them when the voicemail cannot, well, I found consistency by the above isolations.

HI! Kaiser , i guess i was on the right track,,at least you won't have remove the system. It could be noise on the carrier equipment or something effecting the quality of DTMF Tones. Thanks for updating.
