I will try to make this concise!
I am moving an Inter-Tel Axxess switch for a customer to a new suite that I am currently cabling. Here's the situation:
> The switch is an older one that will only be in use in the new suite for a few weeks, at which point they will be running a VOIP switch.
> The switch is fed with a PRI T-1 and they utilize DID's. They are switching carriers at this new location. I am hoping that they set the new circuit up exactly like the old one so I can just "plug and play," but I need to make sure that I can program the switch in the (un)likely event that something doesn't work right. ;P
> From what I have learned so far, it's administered only via an inter-tel program via a serial cable, AND the version of the admin software must match the version of the software on the switch.
> I tried dialing a 9100 code and then 9128 to check the software version, but it didn't work!
My questions are:
> How do I figure out the software version?
> Am I correct that the software versions have to match?
> Can I purchase the admin software? (I think I found a site that has it)
> Is there anything else I should be ready for that I haven't already covered?
Thank you very much for the help. The company that they used to maintain this switch is in another city and hasn't called the customer back for months. They are very frustrated with them and are placing a lot of faith in me that the move with go smoothly and I don't want to let them down!
Thanks,
Ryan

> How do I figure out the software version? Is there a monitor attached to the voicemail? Is the voicemail an external PC or is it a board in the Axxess cabinet?
> Am I correct that the software versions have to match? Yes.
> Can I purchase the admin software? (I think I found a site that has it) Yes, after you foind out what version you need.

Where did you find these 9100 and 9128 codes?

Sounds like the feature codes may no longer be default. 9900 enables diagnostics. 9928 displays the version. These may have been changed, and since they didn't work try mine. You'll need to do this from an administrator station.

Thanks guys! I found those 9100 codes here: https://www.intertel-systems.co.uk/Products/InterTel-Axxess/Axxess-Versions.aspx BUT it seems that is a UK site so maybe the switches in the US are 9900 codes so they wont accidentally conflict with 911... At any rate I will try 9900 and 9928. And the system does not have a voice mail. Ryan
