All of a sudden our Customers, Vendors and others are getting 'UNKNOWN' in their Caller IDs when we call them. I thought it was a Carrier issue, they say they are 'passive' and we're just not sending out the digits any more.

I've got a call into our Inter-Tel reps, but they consider us to be 'big boys', we do much of the day-to-day for our systems, so we get slow answers unless there is smoke and sparks.

I'm guessing someone here can point me right, as that's happened before, and I can settle this before the rep gets back to me.

TIA

Sounds like your PRI functionality is gone. Even if your system is not sending out any digits for Caller ID, the BTN for the account would be displayed, showing something other than 'UNKNOWN'. Pretty rare that a PRI chip should go out on the fritz or get unseated, but this is a possibility. Got a spare T1/E1 with 8877 chip to test with?

Short of that, maybe check with the carrier to ask specifically if they dropped the PRI from the account.

Go to System\Devices and Feature Codes\Stations\Specific Station. The 'Calling Party Number' field is the one you want.

Check this setting:
Go into Online Monitor in DB programming and open up your PRI card. Make sure the following are set:
Calling Party Number Type=2
Calling Party Numbering Plan=1
