I hope that title works. I have a law office where none of the lawyers want voicemail but they want to forward their ext's to their secretaries. This is a sv8100 with in-mail. What happens is if a call is transferred to the lawyers ext, it rings his ext and then forwards to the secretary's phone. If she doesn't answer the call goes back to the AA greeting. I want the caller to be able to leave a message in the secretary's mailbox. I know it follows the "next call routing mailbox" but I can't put the secretary's mailbox there. (47-02-14) The lawyers should never get a voicemail.

It's happening because the Transfer Recall timer in PRG 24.02.04 is shorter ( 30 seconds) that the CFNA timer which is normally 20 seconds per step (40 seconds) Quick solution make 24.02.04 about 60 seconds long solution put the voicemail ports in their own timer group and set PRG 20.31.16 to 0 (no recall) for that timer class.

Hi Paul and thank you for the fast response. I tried the quick solution idea and I still ended up in the lawyers mailbox after ringing his phone then her phone. Then I changed his mailbox to undefined and after it rang his phone then the secretary's phone, it sent me to the AA greeting.

How many lawyers? What model phone does the secretary's have? I'm asking because virtual extensions could be assign to each lawyer, each virtual would have voicemail and a in-skin voice mail for that virtual assigned to a button on the secretary's phone. You can always add a console if needed.

Hi dans. I was just looking at that route. 5 lawyers. All 12 button displays. I'm thinking if I just put a vm button on the secretary's phone for their specific lawyer, maybe that would be okay. If there was a way to turn off the vm light on the layers phone that would be better. I going to look at virtual mailboxes to see if I can get that to work. Thanks for the suggestion.

The mailbox assign to the virtual would not flash the lawyers phone only the button assign to the secretary's phone. The lawyers phone itself would not have voicemail, theirs would be undefined.
