We have an Intertel Axxess running v.9 software. We've run night mode successfully for some years and find we cannot change the greeting to that mailbox. We usually change the message during holidays when the office is closed.

AFAIK, the night mode mailbox is #100. We have tried repeatedly to change this greeting, erase and re-record, or change to the alternate mailbox using our documentation but the message does not change.

We have access to the Intertel programming software interface but not too informed on how to use it.

I'm the designated person who tries to resolve phone problems before they end up going to a phone technician. Thanks for any tips how to understand what's going awry.

Most likely, the greeting you are hearing is a Call Routing Announcement, not a mailbox. You would need to know the admin mailbox and password to record a new greeting.

Is there a way I can figure out what the admin mailbox is from the reception phone or from the programming interface? To the best of my understanding, 100 is the admin mailbox and we are changing the greeting there without affecting the night mode announcement.

I'm looking through the programming interface and seeing references to attendant NONE, application 2503 and night mode.

If I enter 2503 * on a phone, I see 'IC to Nite' and hear the greeting we are trying to change.

We've been entering '2500*>> enter mailbox 100 >> change greeting, which isn't working.

Since you have access to the database, you're halfway there. On the main voice mail screen, the admin mailbox number is shown.

You use the admin mailbox to access voice mail recordings (called audiotex recordings), which are different than a mailbox greeting. Log into the admin mailbox and press 9 for admin options.

In programming, open up application 2503. You'll see digit translations, which determine what happens when digits are pressed while listening to the greeting. You can also see the greeting (audiotex) assigned to the application.

Google Inter-Tel Axxess voicemail admin guide. They're easily found, and will explain how to record greetings.

Okay, thanks. This has been very helpful. I've been able to access our current night mode message on voice mailbox 004 and found the procedure in the admin guide to change the greeting.
