I have Audo Codes MP 104 unit, I just tried to change the password via the web utility.

I was able to login ok, change the password. No errors.
I got a message I needed to reboot for the password chance to occur.

I rebooted via the web, could not log in.
Since the unit is not on-site I had to call, have someone onsite reboot the unit.
Now I cannot get in using the old (default) password or my new password.

Is there a way to reset the password and keep all my other settings?

I saw options about sending an INI file to the unit. I take it thats via a telnet session?
Since I cannot get my hands on the unit I am looking for end user friendly options.

Thank you,

INI file transfer is done via the BOOTP utility used to initially provision these. It has a TFTP server embedded in it. When the BOOTP broadcast is received by the app it instructs the MP-104 to pull the file. Being BOOTP means you'll need to be on the local subnet as that protocol is broadcast based.

Thank you. I was able to reset the unit and keep my settings in tact.
I guess you can only use alpha-numberic passwords.

That is what started this whole thing.
I changed the default password using a "$". The password changed ok... well without error. But I could not log on.

I reset the unit via BOOTP, had the same problem. So I reset again used an alpha-numeric and it stuck this time :-)

Thank you for the help.
