I got a call from a client who said her phone quit working. There are 2 out of 8 that just started doing this?

Actually it works fine, she just can't hear the DTMF in her OWN ear while dialing out.

I've never seen this before and hesitate to replace the phone if it is just a setting I don't know.

This is on a KXTD 816.

Thanks

if they swap the phones does it follow the phone or the port, If they call out to a mobile and press a key can you hear the tone

Hmmm.... Have you checked the headset switch on the phone(s) in question? I know it's a stretch, but worth checking.

Hi OBT,

I hate stuff like this!

I went out and tried one of the bad sets. Dials fine and DTMF can be heard by the distant party but nothing in the receiver.

I put the set on another port. DTMF in the receiver so it must be the port. So I put a different phone on the suspect port. DTMF fine, so it points back to the the phone.

I put the original phone back on the original port and now it works fine.

I went to the other bad set. Dials fine and DTMF can be heard by the distant party but nothing in the receiver.

I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now IT is fine too.

I shoulda just "Control-Alt-Deleted" to begin with, huh?

Oh well at least they are happy.

Thanks again

Handsets both work fine except no DTMF in the sidetone. Unplug, plug back in and it's fine for short while.

My plan is to sneak in at night, move them and wait for more intel
