DSX 40 with one Valcom page horn (V-1030C) and power supply (VP-1124D) connected to the page port.
The customer discovered the shop was not hearing any pages, so they unplugged the page out cord, then plug back in to "reset" and the page starts working. They have to do this a couple times a week.
Ever hear of anything like this? Horn going bad? It's inside a mechanics shop. Maybe something in the DSX?

I would suspect the page port is not releasing when the caller hangs up . I would bring a talk battery ps and connect to a single line phone and test with that with the nec page output removed or your buttset in series with talk battery

Tested yesterday, and of course it worked fine.
Instead of using the page port, I'd like to use something else. The digital station ports are full, unless I add an expansion card. There is an unused CO line port. Using something like a 2PGDAD or PGD(2)-U10 would give me page access, but requires a digital station port. Is there anything I could use with the line port?

you could use that unused CO line port and get a viking unit to go between it and the paging system

May want to look at Impedance matching transformer first, between the output and input.

your timer in page duration could be adjusted and then test. set it to 10 seconds and hang up and test and see if it locks up maybe.this could be a fix if its holding open.

Make sure the page horn vol. is not maxed out or close to it
Valcom speakers will stop working and the reset will turn it back on
