Greetings All ~

I seem to be having some problems getting remote messaging to work correctly.

I have setup a mailbox with a Cascade level 1 to call my digital pager (outside line) and leave "MN" (mailbox number, message count)

Unfortunately I never receive the page. While watching the AvdapMon I see the following error:

VMOUT1]Calling (xXXXX,XXXXXXX#,mbXXXX, 6 rings)
VMOUT1]Result=(EV_toll_restricted)
VMOUT1]Call number result = EV_toll_restricted
VMOUT1 Out]Next notification for mbXXXX in 5 minutes
DISPATCH]Terminating VMOUT1
NTFY]Remote messaging setup failure for mbXXXX

Note: XXXX represent valid numbers.

I am not sure what I have done here, I can tell you that I have had remote messaging working in the past; however that was a long time ago, and I have since made major changes to the db.

Any idea what could be causing this, or where I can look?

jim®

I should add that the number I am dialing for the pager is a local number.

Isn't there anyone out here who can try and point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Not an intertel expert but worked on them a couple of times.

looking at the error it I would check Toll Restriction on the VM ports. Make sure that they are using the correct dial out group and don't have restrictions setup on the VM extensions.

Make sure that your Message Notification/Retrieval application is listed in the Station Extension List that is used by ARS for outbound calls.

Apologies for my ignorance; however how do I go about that exactly?

Thanks in advance.

Log into DB Studio programming. Working on the left side of the screen, expand Devices and Feature Codes, then expand CO Trunk Groups. Expand each of your CO Trunk Groups so that you can look at the options for Outgoing Access. Check the Day and Night options for Outgoing Access and double click on the Extension list number (PPxxx). This will cause the right side of your screen to populate with all of your devices that have permission to dial out on that particular Trunk Group. My guess is that the extension list will not be the default PP051 or PP052, but rather one that has been created. Assuming this is the case, put your cursor in the right lower corner of the screen, do a right mouse click and then click 'Add to Pxxxx', then chose Message Notification/Retrieval, Next, select your application, Add Item, then Finish.

You might want to do this for all of your CO Trunk Groups.

Hey, I just noticed that you're just across the mountains from me - I love Sunnyside.

Thank you all! - It worked like a charm.

Andrea, special thank you for the walk-thru, I inherited this system with no support ;-)

Next time you are in Sunnyside, give me a call, I owe you lunch!
