We have two organizations in the same building using the same phone system (SV8100, DT300 series phones). One of the organizations is smaller and has one incoming (xxx-1299) line that transfer that can be picked up on one of two programmable buttons. Currently, both organizations phones keep ringing until someone picks up unless the phones are on night. The smaller organization needs their calls to go to the auto attendant if not answered after 3 or 4 rings (or going directly to the auto attendant would be fine as well). Is there a way to set up the set the phone up so that incoming line xxx-1299 can operate differently than xxx-8873 or xxx-8890 (they have two incoming lines).

Yes. Better to get someone that knows what they are doing as there is a a few things that have to be done but it can definitely be done.

That's part of the problem. The larger organization is holding the smaller one hostage. They say it can be done, but won't let us call their telecom provider for assistance. If we can figure it out on our own, then we can go for it. I used to program phone at my previous company, and though similar to the NEC system, not exactly the same. Ugh!

Company A that owns the system that shares their system with Company B will not allow their technician (for Company A) to change system programming to allow Company B to meet their (Company B) needs?

Is there a lease agreement between Company A and Company B? I think it's about time for Company B to think about the cost of doing business and get system that is not in their control.

I have worked on many systems where the owner leases out office space to various tenants and the tenants get billed for telephone use.

Send company A a bill for lost revenue due to them not allowing the change and then pursue compensation for lost revenue, they will very quickly come to the party!
