I have an Inter-Tel 5200 system, the directory will only recognize the first two letter when searching for a persons name. Is the system suppose to search for the first three letters?

You're supposed to be able to enter the person's entire name, with a minimum of 3 digits.
Ain't technology wonderful? Nothing like being on the bleeding edge.

we do type in more than three letters, but it seems like it is only searching the first two. Are there settings that we can look at?

The directory only recognize the first two letter when searching for a persons name. There has to be a fix for this and be able to search more than 2 letters. Does anybody know?

The only time I've run into a directory malfunction, it was due to programming and/or user error.
Is your station Description typed in the format of Last name, First name? Have all users recorded their name for the directory?
These are the 2 things that have screwed with our directory. One programmer used to enter First Name Last Name with no comma, another guy entered First Name, Last Name, which was a reversal of what it should be. Then I had users who didn't record their name and the directory would just skip them altogether as if they didn't exist.
