I have a customer with an old Merlin Magix system with a Duovoice voicemail where the hard drive has failed. They are going to purchase a refurbished Merlin Messaging module to replace it. They don't have any open slots but the last card in the system is an 016 ETR module that is unused so the plan is to remove that card and install the Merlin Messaging card in that slot.

Just looking for a little guidance on the proper steps to do this. Don't work on these systems much anymore, probably forgotten more than I remember.

Thanks.

Should be fine, back up to the PC card, remove the ETR card, do a board renumber, then add the Messaging and board renumber again.
Remove the s/l ports that served the DuVoice from the Voicemail Calling Group, and add the Messaging ports. Check the group type, if may be Generic VMI, if so change to Integrated VMI
