We just upgraded our Axxess to V11 and wanted to use the new features Calling Party Name and Emergency Calling Number. Are there options on the 'trunk group side' that must be changed to push that information across to the pir's?
I'm looking at 'send-station extension/username' and 'force trunk group calling party name and number'
The idea is: stations in city B dial 911, the call routes to city A (home of the Access). We want any of the 911 centers to get the correct address information for that user.
Also, is there a feature I can program for these same users if they dial 911 it will go to that city's 911.
Lastly, this may have been saleman hype. I want to take a 10-digit number and translate it to a 4-digit station number. Is that possible?
Say Bye.

Your office in City B needs to have a local POTS for 911 so those calls can bypass your T1. Specify that local trunk as the Emergency Extension under each Station.
You're leaving your company vulnerable and open to lawsuits if you don't use best practices in this area. Industry standards dictate that you install a standard analog line to ensure that users can reach E911.
The salesmen hype is true, but involves very complex ARS programming.

Please explian. The POTs line needs to be connected to the Access system? Ie. There is a FAX line (POTS)in city B, does not go through the Axxess system. Can I put that number in this field?
Or do I need to order a POTS from that area LATA have it brought into my location (30 miles) into Axxess?

Your fax isn't part of the phone system, so you can't refer to it in programming. You will need to order new line from local phone company and have it brought into your system, punch it down to an LSC, and program a new CO Trunk Group. That CO Trunk Group is the number you'll program as your Emergency Extension.

Ok I'm dumb, what is an LSC? Can that new line/truck group be from my area code or does it need to be from city B's area code. If I can put any name in the CO trunk field I could use 1 that we have now.

Hey - no name calling in the forum LSC is a loop start card - you'll need one in your system to accommodate the new telephone line. The phone line you get needs to terminate in your office in City B, whatever area code/number that may be. "If I can put any name in the CO trunk field I could use 1 that we have now." I'm not sure what you mean by this.

Sorry, I have 3 CO trunks and 3 PRI T1's. Can I use the CO trunks, enbable the 'Send-stations ext/username' feature put the address of the extension in the station field and have it sent out if they call 911.
Or let's try this one..on the stations in the other cities, if they dial 911 translate that to the 'dispatch office' for that city and the correct 911 office is contacted.
Say Bye.

You will need an analog line in each city, then program a trunk group with that analog line in it.
then under stations/associated extensions there is a field for "emergency outgoing extension" in this field you will put the trunk group that contains that local line.
dial 911 and tell them your doing a test and verify the address.
