The utility pole situated between out driveway and our neighbor's driveway is now leaning a bit. I think something backed into it, but, my other neighbor doesn't think so.

For some reason, I can't get the pictures to orient properly no matter how I load them. Our driveway is in the forefront.

The label on the pole says NET&T Co.To the best of my recollection, that pole has been there for the 50 or so years that we have lived in this house.

When Verizon gets around to replacing the pole, (NET&T Co is/was above and Edison Co is/was on the bottom) I will see if they will let me keep the tag & the one remaining number. smile

Looks like the butts rotted out, at least it can't fall over.

I think you should take the tag and number now, for safe keeping of course, until Verizon gets there. No telling what might happen to the tag if you wait. And they probably dont need the tag to find the pole. I'm sure nobody knows how that numbering system works anyway.

I checked the pole again. It looks to me like the pole was pushed by a vehicle of some sort. Picture to follow.

Well then, Verizon will just push it back. No sense replacing a perfectly good pole.

Unless something big hit it high up, higher than a bumper than the butts rotted anyway or it never would have pushed over and they would have been spinning wheels trying to.

Verizon stopped by and marked the pole for replacement.

[Linked Image]

The base is too far gone for the pole to be righted.

The tech also marked a pole on the next block that I had called in. The pole is upright, but, so much of the base is missing so that it, too, is going to be replaced.
