Voicemail system is not working correctly. No one can hear anything when connecting to the voicemail system or dialing in. You can see thru the display phones that the system is picking up but you cannot hear anything. I have rebooted the phone system and voicemail computer as well as reseated the cards.

Sounds like you could have an audio cable unplugged. Check your cables between the processor and the voicemail system.
More info on what type of system you have would be helpful. Is your voicemail an EVMC or an older stand alone pc tower?

There is one cable that connects from PC to CPC card, I have tried reseating cables.

This is fine. The older voicemails have a couple of cable connections you can check. Look for a silver hooded cable and trace it out to make sure it's connected on both ends to your vm and processor. This is your audio cable. If you can see on the phone display that you are connected, just no sound, this could likely be the problem.

Is it possible that there is not a separate audio cable? I have worked with the voicemail system on various issues in the past and there is only on cable that runs from the VM pc and the processor. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me how to do a restore in session manager? I have backups but when trying to restore I get a message telling me to restore a database in local mode, exit database program and change selection option on local tab and restart. I have tried this but it only opens up the backup database, don't know how to restore it.

The problem was caused by avdap service being set to automatic instead of manual.
