Hi, I have an older Iwatsu system with a IX-4EVMC voice mail card. I have the VMI System Editor software but do have a cable to interface to the card. It looks like I need a DB9 serial cable to a RJ45 connector to plug into the cards COM port. Does anyone have a pinout for such a cable ?
Is there another way to access the Omega-Voice VMI with this software ? Please help

The DB9 connector pin-out is specific to the Omega-Voice card. If you search this site (specify Iwatsu posts in the search, keyword FAX065 ) there's probably a post with the pin-out listed.

I did search all the forums for FAX065 and it did not provide any information. If anyone has a pin-out or wants to sell me the correct cable it would much appreciated !

Thanks Jeffmoss26 , I have seen this post before, it only shows the DB9 pins and not the RJ45 pins or the connections to each. This does not tell me how to make the cable.
I checked the files at the www.wedophones.com and there was nothing there about the cable to the Omega-Voice VMI system.
I'll keep looking!!!

The post you saw is telling you how to make a DB9/ RJ45 adapter. Connect a patch cable to the VMI card, then use the adapter to connect to the serial connection on your programming pc. I've never used or seen a complete cable...

You don't need to worry about the RJ45 pins - just use a normal straight through cable.

So pin1 on the DB9 connector is blue and it hooks up to what pin in the RJ45 ?
A RJ45 patch cable has colors of Orange, Orange/white, Blue, Blue/white, Green, Green/white, Brown, and Brown/white.
I need a to know which pins get connected from the DB9 to the RJ45.

The tech manual shows pin 1 of the RJ45 jack going to pin 1 of the DB9 connector, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 and so on.

The only pins that really do any thing are pins 2,3 and 5...RCV, XMIT and ground.

Give that a try.
