Hello,
I am really new at phone system support. A task that just got thrown at me at work. I set up a new extension (IP) in our CTX system. extension works fine but I need it to ring simultaneously with another extension, so both extension can answer the call.
I don't know exactly what I need to do for that. I have been researching and making changes in the eManager (creating pickup group, etc) I don't know what I'm missing or I have to set it up.
If anyone knows how to get that setup, I would appreciate the help.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly you will want to put a phantom DN button on the secondary extension. That phantom DN should be the DN of the IP phone. It's been almost 2 years since I managed a CIX and we used to do this type of setup all the time.

I would setup a MCG group to have it ring at both stations.

How does the MCG works? what I need to accomplish is to have ext 4526 (new ext and phone that I just setup) ring at the same time than ext 4519 (already in place). The person in 4526 needs to answer the calls coming into 4519.
Sorry, I am really new at this.
Thanks for the help.

with MCG idea. I would have to forward all calls from 4519 to the MCG, and that would ring in 4519 and 4526..when the people dial 4519. is that correct? would it work with external calls as well?

that's what I though. But I need to get ext 4526 to ring when 4519 get the call. so the call can be answer in either of them.

The easiest way to it would be to go in the KEYS of the new phone 4526, add a KEY that is a PHDN (Phantom DN) with the number 4519 in it. While you program the PHDN KEY you can tell it to ring according to the NIGHT service
