Migrated a SV8100 to a SV9100. Every 3 to 4 months the system locks up. No alarms, blade status is normal, reset fixes the problem. Instructed customer to keep a record of what happens. Customer called today and said it happened again. Digital phones were locked up, onsite VOIP phones were fine. Display on the digital phones said "page from kitchen" which seems to be it happened after a phone made a page. Resetting the digital phone would just say "Initialize" and would not come up. Could access Webpro fine and he reset the system from Webpro. No alarms, blade status was normal. Tech support said it may be something with the network but that seems to be fine. In over 20 years experience with NEC I have never seen a bad CPU. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Something is eating CPU cycles. Check for something pinging (DOS attack) the processor. I have seen this with rogue DHCP devices. Check to make sure someone isn't trying to hack into the system from outside also make sure all your VM-email addresses are valid. Your switches/firewall also may have an issue with multicast and need to be set accordingly or changed to unicast. You will need wireshark this. Also make sure the ethernet port you are not using isn't hooked up and is 0.0.0.0. You COULD have a bad processor but I have never seen one either.

We have had the same issue at a location. Seems to be locking it up when someone does an external page. It is random and has happened a few times the last couple months. This is also a Migration. I am thinking some type of BUG. We upgraded the software. Waiting to se if it happens again.

Did you upgrade to 8.00.65? I am at that now with the same results. We have done plenty of other migrations without any problems.

Have you tried instead of power cycling the system pulling the station blade and re-installing it hot?

Hi Regan. Can you tell me how many phones you have in a Page Group & All Call Group. I talked to Tech. Support and per the manual you should not have more than 50. My customer has close to 70. They never had a problem with the SV8100 but Tech Support says that could be a problem. Just trying to compare notes. Thanks...

NTAC does not support but if you need more phones in page group than are supported by the system
On the CPU Take mini plug and go from page port to music on hold port Make port a BGM not Music on hold turn BGM on on everyones phone you want to hear a page no limit on phone count.
