Call is answered by the voicemail , caller enters ext number of person they are trying to reach , users phone is forwarded to his cell phone , after about 2 minutes of talking the user gets a warning tone and the call disconnects. I am having a brain fart on this one. HELP

It appears that the call is not doing a blind transfer but hanging on to the call which would,

  • Tie up a line on the system
  • Be affected by system timers

Does that point you in the right direction?

Most of the time you can make the trunk's release supervision to received, assuming that the carrier is providing CPC disconnection. If it is not set to received (unsupervised) then the Tandem timer will kick in and disconnect the trunk-to-trunk connection. The default time 300 seconds.

The trunk default is no release supervision. I learned years ago to always change this setting on a new install. It is rare to not receive CPC disconnection from the carriers.

I always hated this option as it ties up 2 trunks on a limited trunk system. What we have done is add a single digit option in the user mailbox "if you would like to reach me on my cell dial 3 or cal me at xxx-yyy-xxxx" dial 3 was to a mailbox with the ext field set to hook flash the trunk and use the dial tone providers forwarding. This will free up the line for more incoming traffic.

But newtecky is correct check release supervision.

If I recall, I think you can press the * key when you hear the warning tone and it will restart the disconnect timer.

This is correct pressing the * key will extend the call by the timer value set in P104 FB07 default=30 seconds
