I had a customer with 2 phones displaying 'System Alarm!'. The customer was trying to get MOH working around the same time the alarm came on. He connected a new cable to the trunk port from the MOH player, don't think that could cause an alarm unless a Rd-Bl or Bl-Rd pin touched another? Anyway, looked in the manual, found the method to cancel the alarm but wanted to see if before doing so any detailed information could be obtained about it. Couldn't find anything, nor was a co-worker that worked on these for years aware of any method. I even brought the book with me (have a couple .pdfs on my pc). Doesn't really matter now as I cleared it so the customer's display could return to normal, but I wonder if there is a way to obtain details about the alarm.

MOH wasn't working because the amphenol on the trunk card was slightly loose.

Was it an actual DCS system or a different model? How did you clear it?I don't think the first DCS systems had any real sustem alarms in them

Was actually a DCS - yep very old! I cleared the alarm by going off hook and entering 57, then the passcode of *******.

While I was there I asked if I could use a phone for a while to access MMCs and wrote down a lot of config information like station and trunks ports, hunt groups, trunk ring assignments etc. I'll put that into Word or Excel just in case we ever reconfigure the system from scratch. They're a Honda dealership so they should be able to afford a new system!

I believe you're right - this may be one of the early DCS systems without any alarm detail.

If you are able to log into the system using DM, then you can look in system alarm and see the code and what it says. Then you can look in programming manual and find out what it actually is.
