Dear All,

Thanks for hosting a very useful post ! I have a question , hope some guru's can help me.

My phone system Inter-tel Session manager 7.1 crashed , I wanted to get the current information from my PBX about all the trunk forward / extension list.

The .axx backup I have is very old , is there any via I can use the RS232 port / hyper term and get the information from the system ? I have a old PC with inter-tel session manager and tools installed.

Session manager version 7.1
DB Studio 1.50

Please help.

Chai.

If the system crashed I would say you lost everything (not something that is common) If you have a download you can open it locally and look at it without having the system up and running. If you can get it back up and running you can reinstall the files and try to make the changes to get it back to where it was. After you get it back take downloads faithfully! I pull one every time I change a name on a system. It only takes a minute and saves you tons of headaches.

PBX is fully functional now , also managed to get the PC restored but it is not having the latest changes.

I was wondering if I can use hyperterm to get the current information on the CPU of the PBX.

THANKS

Can you give some more information on what exactly you have there? Is this an Axxess with a PC used for programming or are you talking about a CPS? How was the session manager connecting to the phone system before the crash?

Axxess used with PC for programming .

Currently PBX is fully functional . I have a backup of the phone system which is not current .

PC connects to PBX via serial cable which is working .

Not sure if I connect the PC with default config it may overwrite the existing configuration .

I have a the PC with Intertel access 7.1 software and DB Studio 1.5 installed . But the .axx file is older than the config which is on the PBX .

If I connect the session manager with default config then it might over write the config on the PBX , finding a better alternative to get the information stored on the PBX CPU card.

THANKS

The programming is stored on the phone system and when session manager connects it loads the data from the phone system. In order to load your saved DB you have to do a restore. Its not going to load the old database when you connect to the phone system. If your having trouble with the system then you need to connect with session manager ASAP and make a backup.

Local is only for a database that exists on your computer such as a backup or a new DB. You would need to select Direct, verify your port settings, and then connect. If your settings are correct and it connects then youll be seeing the data that is on the phone system. You can then make a backup or any changes that need to be made.
