Hey folks;
Have a customer that has me cabling their new building & asked that I put in a patch panel for their phone system (Mitel AXXESS). What I am looking to find out is if the AXXESS ksu interface uses 25 pr amphenol cables or 25 pr tails with the single pairs broken out? Also, as a 2 pair phone, can I speculate 568A wiring standard?

Thanks for your help !!!

It uses a single pair but on the outside pins (white/orange pair on T568B)
There is an 8 port DKSC and a 16 port DKSC16.
I guess it depends how many phones you need to have wired up. I do not like using patch panel for voice, but if I had to do it this way,I would run 25 pair cables with amphenols from the KSU to the patch panel. Punch down each pair to a port and you are good.

Patch panels have their pros and cons. It’s important to be be consistent. I had one contractor wire the jacks as 586A and the patch panels as 586B! It doesn't really matter which one you use, as long as they're both the same. I prefer 586B, so each jack could be used for either voice or data (assuming CAT 5 is used).

On the system side of the patch panel, make sure the Amphenol cables for analog and digital cards are punched down properly. If using 586B, analog ports are punched down on the blue pair and digital on the green. A standard patch cord will then work for either type device. However, you can’t change the type of card in the system without re-punching the patch panel.
