I am a Nortel / Avaya man myself but have worked with some of the Intertel systems. I have a client that wants to port to COX for telephone service to reduce his costs 1/2. I inspected his system and he has a T1 from XO. Normally this is fanned out to from a channel bank to analog line on a 66 block. This site has the T1 plugged directly into the KSU. It is a small setup only 14 lines and about 10 exts. COX does not offer T1. What would be the best way to convert his service to POTs within the AXXESS. They do not use DID just a pilot number. Thanks!

Welcome to the board.

I'm not sure I'm reading your post correctly.

What will Cox be bringing into your DMARC? You said they don't have a T-1 service, so I'm assuming they're not bringing a broadband pipe into into an IAD type router that breaks the incomming pipe out into POTS lines and an ethernet port.

If they're bringing POTS directly into the phone room you'll need line card(s). If it's HDSL, then we're back to the IAD question again.

I see you're in LV though, so you're in luck. Whatever you end up needing you'll probably be able to pick up locally from Sundance by clicking hte button at the top of this page. welcome

Cox will be delivering POT service to the site terminated on a 66 block. I have to take it into the KSU. as you mentioned it looks like line cards. Will it be easy to install the line cards and reconfigure the service to use loop start lines?

You'll need the 4 port CO line card and you can add 4 port piggyback card to get 8 lines...looks like you'll need 2 of each to get 16 lines..which will use 2 slots in the cabinet.

we have it all in sock.
