Hi, I am trying to "front end" analog fax machines with a call routing application to receive the fax, e-mail a copy then deliver the fax on to the fax machine.
The analog fax machines are internal extensions.
I have the fax delivery field of the CRA set for the fax machine extension. I have the fax DID set to the CRA as it's destination in a call routing table.
Incoming fax to the DID completes. The email is received. The fax machine never rings.
If I point the fax DID directly to the fax machine extension it works as expected.
If I call the fax extension the fax machine rings so I have to assume that voice mail is not faxing out, or is trying to fax out on an external line?
What should I look at next?
Thanks!!

I don't think the Fax email and Fax destination works that way. According to what I see in the manual, if both the Fax email address and the Fax destination extension are programmed what happens is it will send the email only unless all of the Fax ports on the voicemail fax card are busy. Or it can not deliver to the email address somehow. So it appears that the Fax destination is a backup for the Fax email.
I can not think of a way you can do what you want within the system. But there are a lot of good people here that may have a workaround.

Well that's odd. I'll try removing the e-mail address and see what happens.

Dang you are right. If I put ONLY the fax machine's extension the fax prints on the machine.
Is there no way to BOTH receive a fax on an extension AND send a copy via e-mail?
That makes no sense at all and seems like a really poor design choice.

I can not think of a way to do what you want to do. But maybe someone on here has a work around of some kind. If I get a chance I'll mess with it here but have been pretty busy.
