Replaced a non working SBA 225 bogen mod. along with si35a for a school paging system Thursday and have a problem with talk back in class rooms now. Every thing seems to be working fine,All page, class room page, time clock etc., But talkback from class rooms time out before full response is heard.I should not have touched this 25 year old system but jumped in anyway . I think the SI35A is defective but not sure.

Since you don't say what you have tried so solve the issue, then step one would be to follow the Troubleshoot Procedure on page 18 of the manual.

and what accessory equipment do you have hooked up with the unit?

Should have noted that when first replaced i kept getting ring back tone over speaker in control unit, I removed speaker plugs one by one untilll ringing stopped on number one intercom plug. Also the power lights normal,peak and overload do not light.Should also say that this was a cold call customer who purchased replacement eq. on amazon.Talked to Bogen Tech and he wanted me to remove all speaker plugs and hook 1 speaker on 2 foot cable directly to unit to test.As i did not have speaker in van and did not want to remove a class room speaker to test. I left for other jobs. Will return Monday to test.

Tech Support is right. Use one of their existing speakers. Working in schools... 95% of the work is done during the Summer or after hours. Schools understand.

think i have located problem. Thought i had moved old speaker plugs one by one but seems that i am off by 1 pin on all plugs. cause of ring back tone on speaker plug 1. Manusl shows first 3 pins should not be used on sba225.Speaker plugs use 4 pins each, so will number and remove all plugs Monday and install just one for test..Just a theory.
