I am new to the group and I want to know if there is a way to mark a thread resolved. One of my issues is resolved so I would like to let eveyone know who might read it.

How about just posting that it was resolved, always nice with an explanation of what you did to resolve it so others can learn.

Be aware however, that it won't stop some people from continuing to post their two cents anyway.

No "resolved" mark/status. Hal's idea is the way to go.

I agree with this .
To many times people ask for help.
A suggestion is posted.

But the original poster never comes back and states if it worked or not.

Yes admins or moderators could edit the original post subject and mark resolved..
They could even move the post to a sub forum that is a catch all bucket for resolved.

But visitors would benefit most by reading a response by the original poster what worked or not.


There is no such thing as stupid questions.

I'm with Ruben & Dean. New visitors to the thread will benefit from seeing the chain of events.

One of my big beefs all these years has been the people who don't tell us what happened or worse - don't say thank you - especially when you've helped them out with hardware and software (in my case often gratis).
