Hi guys

Does anyone know if a Samsung OS7200, currently working with a single SIP trunk provider via Public IP address can be programmed with another separate SIP trunk for failover use?
Samsung say you can only have one Public IP in use at a time so you have to change it manually in menu 5.2.10.
But they also say it could possibly be achieved by letting a dual WAN router do the Natting and leave the system as PRIVATE ONLY.
Has anyone out there attempted such a thing, or is this an impossible dream?

Thanks in advance if anyone has an idea

Thanks

Mike

I'm doing it I a os7200s. We have 4 wans and 2 different sip providers.
As long as the sip providers ignore the private ip and use the source address of the connection it should work.

Ah, thank you for the reply, so you don't need to change anything manually on your 7200s? it just works via the router doing it all? like it will know if a circuit is down and another one comes into play?

No, is left as private only. The router chooses which wan to use. The system is set to register with the 2 providers, and they use the source ip from the connection rather than what the system sends.

This method also works if you don't have a static wan ip address.

Only for sip trunks though.
