Hello Everyone
I cannot get the Microcall phone reporting software to communicate with one of our Mitel 5000s ver 2.4. We have the same Microcall software running and communicating fine with another Mitel 5000 in a different office. The only difference with the one not working is the phone system is in a different office and the data is being sent over our WAN. Port 4000 is open and working as I can connect to the IP via session manager and I can telnet to the port. Microcall is telling me that the phone system is not communicating with the software. When I look in the error logs in Microcall, it keeps telling me logon failed. I am not sure what credentials it is using to login with. Any help is greatly appreciated.

For Microcall you are looking for SMDR info. can you open diag mon/smdr with the IP address and get info from the remote location? Also you might try using putty to get into the 5200 and ping the rempte location (I have no idea why but have made things talk doing this before) Hope this helps Randy

Randy, as always thanks for your help. I used diag mon/smdr and I get the following error "The socket connection has been closed. Do you wish to try and reconnect?" I try doing the same thing for our phone system in a different location and it works fine. Does this point to this 5000 not taking connects in some way?
As far as pinging using Putty goes, I am able to ping with any problems.

You need to enable the SMDR stream on yer 5000. Go to System\Sockets and enable SMDR.

Thanks for the information. I went in and enabled SMDR but I still cannot log into the diag mon/SMDR. Does this require a phone system reset?

Go to System\Maintenance\SMDR and make sure 'SMDR Output Active' is set to yes.

Thanks again to Randy and Superfoneguy
Once I set SMDR to yes and restrated the phone system, I was able to get data into Microcall. I guess the socket was hung open for SMDR.
