I'm trying to locate a power extension cord that connects the 626 modular KSU to the 79B2 power unit. The cord from my KSU doesn't reach the power supply and needs the extension. The BSP reads "Power for the 626A panel may be supplied by a 79B1 or 79B2 power unit associated with a 1A2 KTS. In the event the power cord of the panel is too short to connect to the power unit, a P12D cord can be used.". Does anyone know if the P12D is an industry standard cord or unique to the design of the 626 panels? Any help on locating one would be appreciated.

That cord is a unique WE number. In all WE cords, the number in the middle indicates the number of conductors. The plugs and connectors, however, (I believe) are COTS (commercial, off the shelf) items, and you could make your own cord, if you are successful in finding the proper plug/connector.

I will contact a friend who does not post here, and ask him. I'm sure he knows the manufacturer and type.

I know that every installation has its own set of unique conditions, but is there any chance of centering the power supply over your panels? It is only four panels or fewer with a 79BX unit anyway, right?

Thanks Arthur for looking into! Living in Florida we don't have basements, so I was only able to get one closet from my wife for my 1A2 equipment. I had to install the power unit and modular panels stacked vertically, 4 high when accounting for the intercom modular panel, so I need the power extension cord for the bottom panel.

Well, in the absence of an elegant solution, you could always cut into the cord, and splice in a length of equivalent cabling, making it as neat as possible.

Since it's not for a customer, and only you will know about the splice, (we won't tell the aesthetic police) it seems like the best way to proceed.

As an aside, the phone company, always prepared to provide as many options as possible, actually created an adapter, that allowed a standard (non-modular) power unit, such as a 20B2, to supply power to the 6xx series panels. It consisted of a female connector, mounted on a small back plane that had screw terminals, where you would feed power from the P/U. These adapters, of course, are made of UNobtainium.
