SL1100 DTMF Sip

Just changed a customer to Sip trunks, My dtmf signaling from callers has no tones, so I can't use the auto attendant. Dtmf out is fine. 84-12-31 is RFC 2833, 84-13-28 is G.711 PT, 84-13-32 is RFC 2833. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Be sure that whatever your sip trunk provider has as its first option for DTMF that you have that set for your first option for DTMF

Thanks Coral Tech but I don't have time to learn how to use Wireshark. But if I took a stab at it what filters should I use, what header category VoIP? and how do you analyze the data?

Not sure if you got this working or what the issue was, but with the SL product you can work directly with NEC support. You can send them the Wireshark capture to analyze for you. Highly recommend getting familiar with wireshark if you are going to do anything with SIP or IP. Key thing to have is a small Netgear managed switch which are very inexpensive and mirror port 1 and 2. So the System you would plug into port 1 and laptop running wireshark in port 2 and your network connection to the LAN in any other port. When testing this I assumed you were using your cell phone to test. Sometime if you are placing a call out on the same SIP service the call is coming in on the DTMF may not be recognized. I have seen this from time to time. I have seen it on BYOB PRI's as well.

Had a site here a couple of years ago that had this. Turned out that the SIP carrier were looking for DTMF inband so had to set 84.27.01 to inband. Not the best way of doing things nut it worked
