Concerning the NEC SL2100...can this model ring "multiple extensions"?...example: call comes in and is transferred to "ring group extensions"...all extensions ring...if no answer, message is left on 1 of the extensions.

Analog trunks: I DIL them to a virtual, assign virtual keys to the phones that are to ring. DIL delay to where you want. PRI or SIP: DID them the same as DIL

Yes, there are a couple different ways to get there depending on what you are ultimately attempting to accomplish. Look at Virtual Extensions and assign a ringing call coverage to each of the phones. It does not have to be a physical button on the 2100. You can then forward that no answer to the mailbox you want (via a routing mailbox/Dial Action Table), or give the Virtual Extension a mailbox and place it on a button for the devices that initially rang. The reason I suggest that is if all the people could have taken the call to begin with, they could all essentially answer the voicemail, and this keeps the individual mailboxes available for the specific user.
I am sure there may be some better recommendations but that is what I have found to work best for me.

Seems everybody wants to do things the hard way these days! DILs can just be set to normal in 22-02 and they will ring anything that is in incoming ring group 1 (22-04). If you want a night mailbox create a virtual (Eg 250) which is permanently forwarded to mailbox (24-09) You will need to assign it a mailbox but I won't go into that but a hint is that group mailboxes can be used for subscribers and don't need licenses. Then in 22-04 set mode 2 for your lines to DIL and then in 22-07 for mode 2 put in your virtual extension number (Eg 250).
I will assume you then know how to set up night mode switching.
DIDs a little different in that 22-02 you need to set both modes 1 and 2 be DID and then in your DID translation tables to route the appropriate DIDs to the ring group you want for day and the virtual at night.
You can assign a message key on the phones for your virtual in 15-07 key value 77 second data the virtual number (Eg 250) Note you can put this on as many phones as you wish and all will light when there is a message (alternatively you could go for voicemail to email)
A note here, you can't forward calls that are programmed to go to a ring group and in the times we are in, I have had multiple requests to be able to call forward calls out to a mobile. The way I have got round this is that there is a code to call forward an extension other than the one you are on (I won't post the code as I don't know if US default numbering is the same as OZ) what you do is use that code to call forward the virtual (Eg 250) and then put the system in night mode. You can put it back to VM by cancelling using the same code as the fixed setting kicks back in when you cancel a forward set this way.

There are so many ways to make this work. Seriously, easiest (and less programming) is simply set trunks to normal (default) your ring group your no answer to ring group 102 (main AA). Record your mailbox greeting in instruction 001 set timeout to 1 second and REC2 to your VE mailbox. This has the added bonus of your AA actually working if you need to get in remotely. This also works for DID routing as well. Then you can assign that mailbox to any and all extensions as mentioned above. Again this is one of many ways to accomplish the same thing. VERY few systems allow this kind of flexibility.
