The end user states that incoming calls never get transfered to voicemail. It seems that her voicemail box never gets created correctly. Under its settings it isn't initialized. I've tried deleting it and creating another one... it still isn't initialized. I am also unable to edit the setting "Mailbox Initialized". Anyone have any thoughts on why this might be going on?

Does that extension have a forwarding path to voice mail configured?

Dial (394) on the keyset, then turn sys fwd (if any) back on (352). Mailboxes do not have to be initialized for calls to fwd to them. Uninitialized boxes will work, they just give a caned greeting. If customer is using manual fwd. then dial (356) Fwd no ans busy to the v-mail piolet #

Two separate issues. First, the mailbox isn’t initialized until the user logs in, changes the password and records their name. Once that happens, the flag will change showing the mailbox is initialized.
As the other posters stated, calls will not forward to voice mail unless there is a forward path programmed and system forwarding is turned on. Look under System / Devices and Feature Codes / Stations (Endpoints for a 5000) / Forward Paths. If none are listed, right click and add the forward path for voice mail. Compare the settings to a station that works properly.
Under the station flags, make sure System Forwarding says Yes. You should be good to go.

Thanks Guys.
I set it up as you guys recommended. The user isn't in today so I can't tell if it worked yet.
When I call her extension I still don't get the option to "leave a voice mail". Do you think this means that it still hasn't worked correctly? Or will that message disappear once she goes in and sets up her voice mail?

How are you calling her extension? If your calling it via intercom, you wont get voicemail unless thats checked in the forwarding path. Try calling in from your cell and have someone transfer you to her extension and see what you get.

I'm calling via intercom. When I call another extension I have an option on my admin phone to leave a voicemail by pushing a button to the left of my screen. It's not a big deal that this works.
I did just call from my cell phone and it transferred me to voice mail.
Thanks a lot for all of your help

For the extension that is broke go to:
System\Devices and Feature Codes\Stations\Broke Station\Associated Devices\Voice Mail. Change this to be yer voice mail pilot number. Also change the Message Center to be the voice mail pilot number.
