Apple doesn't allow third-party apps access to the microphone and the integrated Phone app directly. On iPhone, recording phone calls is blocked, period.
Possible a work around would to use something like Google Voice and use > Settings > Calls > Incoming call options
You have the option in settings for calls to be answered either via the app itself (check off iOS Device) or by having the call forwarded to your mobile number. Either way, you are not technically doing the recording on your iPhone. It's all done on Google's servers, which handle the Voice over IP (VoIP) connection.
But I could be wrong.

There are several apps in the App Store why would Apple put them there if they do not work? I was hoping to find out which ones work best and/or are free.
