Hi, I have an OfficeServ 7100 system with several SMT-i5210 IP phones (on local and remote networks). Until recently we were using the system with ISDN lines. We no longer have the requirement to make external (outside the company) phone calls and just use it to make internal calls between colleagues. Since disconnecting the ISDN lines we have found that remote handsets no longer work and are stuck in the "Connecting Server" state, my assumption was that the system would still work without these lines connected...
I've confirmed on a remote phone that it has the correct server IP address and is been assigned a dynamic IP on the network. Is there something additional that needs to be configured to get the remote handsets operational again?
System is running v4.53 and IP phones are on v1.11 if that makes any difference
Thanks in advance, AJ

Disconnecting isdn shouldn't affect anything.
My guess is the port forwards in the firewall/router aren't working or have been removed.

Ah yes! Spot on! Our firewall port rules were set to run only on WAN1 and we've recently changed over to a different WAN segment. All running now!
Firmware wise, is there any point in upgrading any handsets/OS system? We don't really come across any issues with the system (why touch what isn't broken). The only future-proof changes we would make is adding SIP licenses

The newer firmware had much improved sip trunk. Also there are some bugs in 4.53c to-do with pressing buttons on handsets to quickly after putting a call on hold, Park/transferring it Never found any issues with handset firmware

Perfect thanks will look into updating from 4.53c. Does Samsung maintain a repo for firmware anymore?

No idea about the repo. I can send you 5.03 firmware which is the latest version which also has unlimited licenses
