Have a remote user whose router blew out, so got a new one, Netgear WNDR3300.
Configured ports as usual - NOTHING WORKS. (Phone does get local net addy, is pingable on local net, gets 'waiting for authentication' msg.)
Wondering if there is a known issue with this router type, esp. since it offers 'enhanced features that are touted in the adverts, but can not be found in the ^&^^# manuals made available.
In particular, wondering about (from the box adverts):
================
***Double firewall: Network Address Translation (NAT) to hide PCs and files from outside users –Stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall to deny outside requests for personal information
***Denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention
***Wireless access control to identify authorized wireless network devices
***“Trusted user†control
***QoS function
TIA

Can you config the router for a DMZ port? Alot of these consumer routers deny IP traffic whether or not they are configured to.

Have done so per their info (has specific option for DMZ) - no go. Tried both port forwarding and port triggering also.
What annoys is the last one she had worked, but they don't do that model any more.

Now it gets stranger - Installed 8602 SoftPhone on her just to verify ports. Softphone works, half way. One-way audio (remote can hear me, I can't hear her), but does NOT get the 'waiting for auth' message.

Does the phone work from a different location? Just wondering if it is a phone issue...since you said a softphone works... One way audio on the softphone probably due to it is not in the DMZ.

It could be a phone issue, but I tested it before sending out. Will verify that I did put the softphone in DMZ and try that again, just to confirm.
