Our Inter Tel Axxess system has 2 boxes mounted on the wall with the PRI/T1 and other circuit cards. We also have a Windows NT PC for Voicemail. There is another Windows 2000 box with the Inter Tel name on it. It is making a very high piched noise identical to the sound of a battery backup. What is this box?

Reaser,
It could the fan or power supply.
A CPS is a PC just like your voicemail.

That is the processor for your PBX. It is likely a Win 2000 box and if it is making loud beeping noises it could be fitted w\ a hardware RAID solution called EZRaid and there is a problem w\ the RAID situation. I would look at the front panel for a bezel w\ LED lights that indicate the RAID status and do a Google search to see what you need to do if indeed the RAID solution is producing the beeping.
