Is anyone else having the problem with IP phones not registering?
It happened several times a month with several of my customers.
The phones display “SIP Server Not Found”.
The system must be rebooted for them to re-register.
It's only affecting customers that use NEC SIP Trunks and IP phones.
Customers with NEC SIP trunks and digital phones do not have the problem.
I have several SV9100 systems with NEC SIP trunks and IP phones that do not have this problem.
thanks

Local IP phones for one customer, remote for another over a VPN.

Check 10-58 and make sure your networks are defined.

Then it's probably network issue of some flavor. Very possible your DHCP is renewed very often and the ARP tables are not clearing properly. Make sure you are on the latest firmware on phones and system. Also verify that the network port/cable to the system is not bad/failing. If it continues you will need to get NTAC involved. Pretty sure it's free for that system.

NOTE: I have also seen on poor networks that something on the network will create a DOS (Denial of Service) attack on the system because it does not recognize the phone system. Wireshark is key.

You'll need to lockdown the port forwarding to known IPs only.

Its very annoying but for some reason the 2100 cant handle internet traffic when you open it up the WWW for sip/ip exts. Unless any one else has managed this? Its a pain if someone wants the mobile app as we have to create a VPN.

The 9100 seems to not have this issue.

I am having the same problem as well. All is programmed correctly and the phones work as they are supposed to when they are up.

PBX end was on Comcast coax and was cut-over to Comcast fiber about a month ago. Did have 1 occurance before the cut-over where the network port on the PBX locked up, couldn't communicate over the network.

Today's failure makes 3x in 2 weeks. Always happens when the office is closed (overnight). The only fix so far has been to crash the PBX & when it restarts the phones come back to life. These 3 times the network port has stayed up, can ping it, can log into programming . . .

entac wants me to run a wire shark trace & then send it to them.

I've had this issue with random SL2100's with or without IP phone, with VM-to-EM license - occasionally the phones will still work but the VM forwarding quits and my remote access goes away - I can sometimes have the customer remove the ethernet cord and plug back in to bring it all back up or sometimes I have to have the system re-booted - no real differences in programming between the systems... The 2100 doesn't seem to be able to reacquire IP access when there's a hiccup on the network...
