I have a customer that has an NEC aspire phone system for about 17 years

It’s a small charter school with three separate buildings

There’s a phone in every classroom


They are going to be installing a new phone system from Microsoft I’ve never really heard it before but I was just wondering if anybody else has

Obviously it’s a hosted phone system

From what I understand they don’t dial extension numbers everything is done through a directory which are basically speed dial numbers

Because all the phones have their own DID For billing purposes


As far as the paging goes they have one TOA amplifier in each building it’s a two wire paging system

They did buy some separate external algo devices for paging and bells

They’ve always had the ability to page each building separately or all buildings at the same time

I’m basically just wondering if anybody has had any experience with Microsoft teams and their phone system just wondering what to expect on Monday morning

I’m basically just helping them with cabling

I would tell them good luck. Good to see tax dollars hard at work. That is a TON of money per month.

Usually, but not always, Teams Use a separate UcasS provider to get the functionality.

I can’t believe the phone systems been there since 2005

Because I installed it😳



Very few problems with the NEC however it does have to be replaced

These schools don’t seem to have a problem with spending other People’s money

I’m surprised because this is a small charter school

I’ll keep you posted
