HI folks,

Looking to have virtual extensions that, when dialed from the auto attendant or from a set forward out to a designated cell phone.

We have a CIX 100 with a strata messaging unit.

The other challenge is updating the cell number that it is forwarded to.

I thought I had it sorted programming a PhDn then remote forwarding it #6031, extn num#, 9+destination.

When we try it in the auto attendant though there is just silence and then a single beep. No outgoing lines are activated.

If there is a way to do it without using a PhDn, That would be awesome.

Why don't you put the cell numbers into speed dials and from the AA you can dial the speed dial required, this way the customer can edit the speed dials when needed?

Have you allowed the SM VM access to make outside calls eg it is unbarred? asthe VM ports are usually barred to stop toll fraud.

The forwarding example you are using is incorrect or the sequence is wrong. If you are forwarding from the owner of the PhDN, you would press the phantom DN key and enter #6011 (all forward), or #6031 (call forward Delay). In your example of #6031 (no Answer), it would be #6031 9+destination + # + delay (2 digits).
For Forward all from the PhDN owner phone it would be #6011 9 + destination + #

If you are trying to set CF-ALL from another phone you would dial #6012 {Ext} # + 9 + number + #

FYI, in the past I have been able to get this working using a MCG instead of a PhDN. I have a church that is using pre-programmed speed dial keys to change the forwarding of MCG pilot number to change the on call person.

@newtecky

Do you set the call forward for a MCG the same way as CF-ALL from another phone?

So say your MCG pilot is 601, Can you just go to any phone, press #6012 601 # 9 xxx xxx xxxx # ?

Yep. That is pretty much it. You may want to make sure that you have at least 1 extension in the MCG table.

This was a neat trick for forwarding the main lines that rang to a MCG group. I just expanded on this for dialing out for on-call.
