I have 2 8660 IP phones that I need to setup.
Normally on the other IP phones I deal with you would hold down the 7 and 8 keys during power on to access the local programming mode, but on these phones it simply reboots it. Is there a different set of keys for this model, or could there be something wrong with these phones?

I'm not going to be of much help, but I hate to see thread go without any answers. The 7+8 held at boot up should do it. I have some 8662s that work that way. Do you know what firmware is on the phone. Some old documentation states that if you are V8.2x firmware IPRC, the programming is done differently. Unfortunately, I do not have that documentation.. It is called "Addendum to the Axxess V8.0 Installation and Maintenance Manual.

It is old firmware, that's actually why I started working on these, to update it.
Thanks for the name of the addendum, as least that gives me something to search on.

The 7+8 on power-on is what does it for my 8660 phones.

I don't know what is going on with yours. frown

7+8 should work, just hold it down till it comes up. I haven't seen one that didn't work.
Seems unlikely you have 2 bad phones...
You might be able to reflash them.

sorry to rehash an old thread, but did you ever find a solution to this? I've just got a batch of second hand 8622's and I can't get into the self programming using either * + 7 + 8 or 7 + 8 at power up.
