Most hated problem - intermittent!
We have 12 hunt groups, each using an extension list of 6-20 extensions. On one HG in particular, every 4-5 weeks, we suddenly experience calls dropping when transferred from the Operator. We record all our calls (legal office) so we "hear" what the operators are doing - call comes in, they figure out which HG to send it to, transfer, dial HG number, we hear our wonderful MOH, then silence. We are transferring about 300 calls in an hours time. We have 4 T1's with 92 channels. I have never seen the system use more than 35-38 channels at one time, so we are not "full" by any means. About 3-5 callers per hour are being disconnected almost IMMEDIATELY after they are transferred. I want to blame the Operators but I just do not see how they could be causing this.
It only happens on one HG (of course it is the busiest). We have tried deleting and recreating the HG, using a different HG number, tweaked every timer 20+ times, still ending up with the same result. The calls are almost always on different trunks and/or different channels. I have considered it is the T1(s) but basic diagnostics look clean. As usual, not being prolific in Inter-Tel we are missing something basic. The system is running an 8.2 database. We would really appreciate any ideas on where to look, start or just thoughts. :bang:

I've seen a similar issue before and once we dispersed the cards, the problem went away.

Each cabinet only has a MAX of 128 timeslots. Counting up the DKCS16's, OPC (W/your extra VM ports), IPRC's, T1's, etc. do not have to be under 128, but once the cabinet reaches this, it becomes blocking.

This may not be the case, but worth a look.

Note: If you are under contract, you may want to see if you can get upgraded to V11.017a (Latest out) to see if it is a bug.

Good Luck.

Thanks, we will start there - that is a big help - we are also checking voltages - no indications of issues from the LEDs on the power supplies, but that is one of the troubleshooting steps in the manual.
